The Apple eMate 300 features an ARM 710a processor at 25MHz and memory of 3MB. It ran with the operating system of the Newton OS 2.1 version.

The eMate featured personal digital assistants designed as low-cost laptops for the education market. It was the only computer that run with the Newton OS and had equipped a built-in keyboard. The eMate was discontinued, as well as the Newton product line at the turn of the century.

Unlike other pads, the present model featured an internal memory expansion slot, under the battery door. It also presented a modern design suitable for classrooms, with a green durable case. Prototypes with different colors were in production only for show. They were never mass-produced.

That was just a snapshot on the presentation of the techmuseum series. Indulge more into the history. Continue reading more about the present model, the Apple eMate here.
