NeXT Cube

The NeXT Cube features a Motorola 68040 processor at 25 MHz and memory of 8kB up to 64kB. Equipped with a floppy disk 2.88MB and an HDD of 400MB, or 1.4GB or 2.8GB, it ran with the operating system of the NeXTStep 2.2 version.

The NeXT Cube features a Motorola 68040 processor at 25 MHz and memory of 8kB up to 64kB. Equipped with a floppy disk 2.88MB and an HDD of 400MB, or 1.4GB or 2.8GB, it ran with the operating system of the NeXTStep 2.2 version.

NeXT during the 1990s marketed the cubic line of personal computers, starting with the NeXT Computer. Presenting more developed features than the predecessor , the NeXT Cube had a Motorola 68040 processor and not a 68030.

The NeXT product line was a rather high-end series targeted for higher education. The launch took place in a extravagant invitation-only exhibition in October 1988 with a registration fee as well!
