Videoton is a Hungarian electronics company, founded back in 1938. Only after the Warsaw Pact for the Eastern Bloc socialist countries the company became well known. It was one of the heavy manufacturers of electronics aiming to cover local distribution needs. This pact barred foreign imports boosting the Bloc’s autonomy and local production.
Today, the corporation holds 4th place in the European Manufacturer Market, after the consolidation and building of a strong structure. After the demise and crollation of the Eastern Bloc, many orders to East European market got cancelled and the company was into a difficult situation. After signing contracts for manufacture and distribution with companies such as Philips or Bosch, the company arose once again.
That was just a snapshot on the presentation of the techmuseum series. Indulge more into the history. Continue reading more about the present model, the Videoton TV Computer here.
