Miles Gordon Technology for a short period produced the SAM Coupé 8-bit computer. Released in a time when 16-bit computers were more prevalent, the product didn’t meet commercial success. Consumers, though, considered it a logical upgrade to the ZX Spectrum with the design of the ZX Spectrum 48K.

The Coupe model had a design and architecture aimed to the UK market. It was designed around the PAL television standard and had a large border surrounding the display. In total, the model had 4 display modes, design borrowed from the aforementioned ZX Spectrum 48K.

That was just a snapshot on the presentation of the techmuseum series. Indulge more into the history. Continue reading more about the present model, the SAM Coupe here.
