The launch of the MikroMikko series marked the Finnish company in 1981 with the Nokia MikroMikko 1. This was Nokia’s attempt to enter the market of business computers. The production of the computer series continued up until the 1987 after having bought the division of computers from Swedish Ericsson. The names derives from the name day of Mikko in the Finnish almanac.
During the 1990’s because of the country’s economic oppression, the manufacturer had to sell many less profitable divisions to remain competitive. The personal computer division, was thus sold to ICL which later became part of Fujitsu. The trademark remained in Finland, but Fujitsu marketed the line internationally under the trademark ErgoPro.
That was just a snapshot on the presentation of the techmuseum series. Indulge more into the history. Continue reading more about the present model, the Nokia MikroMikko 1 here.
