The Nec UltraLite features a Nec V30 processor at 4.92 up to 8.14 MHz and memory of 640kB. Equipped with a floppy disk of 3.5” at 720kB it ran with the operating system of the MS DOS 3.3 version.

NEC, previously known as Nippon Electronic Company, is a Japanese electronics company. Business includes operations in different divisions such as IT solutions, cloud computing, AI ang Internet of Things (IoT) platform. During the years, the company produced telecommunications equipment, electronic components, semiconductors, home computers.

For the local Japanese market, NEC was among the best home computers manufacturers along with Fujitsu and Sharp. The best selling PC-8xxx series held a dominant place in the computer share market alongside strong rivals. Subsidiaries of the company sold accordingly well in the North American market as well.
