The Atari ST line of computers succeeded the Atari 8-bit family. The very first model of the series, the Atari 520ST entered the market in 1985. Alongside with other competitors, such as Amiga, Macintosh, Acorn Archimedes the ST family featured 16- and 32-bit processors (thus named ST for Sixteen/Thirty-two).

After the discontinuation of this family of personal computers, the Atari TT and Falcon families followed.

That was just a snapshot on the presentation of the techmuseum series. Indulge more into the history. Continue reading more about the present model, the Atari 520ST here.
