TikTok’s tactic to increase its users

TikTok is following the example of Facebook and Netflix and introducing video games to their platform. The company behind TikTok, ByteDance, has already been experimenting with gaming in Vietnam.

By expanding into gaming, TikTok could earn revenue from their users playing video games on the platform. This would also increase the amount of time they spend on Facebook, one of the most popular social networking sites in the world with more than a billion active monthly users.

They are also working on some new features that they think audience might find them entertaining – these are called minigames and they will be produced with the assistance of software developers and video game companies.

TikTok is currently unavailable in China. The Chinese version, called Douyin, allows users to also play games within the app in 2019. Even without the games, TikTok’s finances are show a spectacular rise. They’re expected to have more than $11 billion dollars from ads this year and that’s more than Twitter and Snap combined.
