TECHDAY 7 August Birthday of a radio pioneer

On this TECHDAY in history, in 1886, Alan Hazeltine was born in the U.S.A.. He was a physicist and engineer, who developed a technology that made commercial radio possible, the neutrodyne circuit. Hazeltine’s work in wireless radio and telephony, including time as a consultant for the US Navy during WWI, helped him invent this circuit. The neutrodyne circuit eliminated most of the noise that all radio receivers suffered from at the time.
