On this TECHDAY in history, Atari was founded in California by Nolan Bashnell and Ted Dabney as an arcade manufacturer. Atari would expand its business from arcade game manufacturing, to game consoles and computers until 1996, when it was successively transferred from JTS to Hasbro and finally to Infogrames. In the hands of this French company, it regained its original logo and became, again as Atari Inc, one of the most known companies in the video games industry.
