TECHDAY 1 January Happy New Internet!

On this TECHDAY in history, in 1983, all ARPANET nodes adopted the TCP/IP protocol. The ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) was the first wide-area packet-switched network with distributed control and one of the first that used the TCP/IP protocol suite. Both technologies were crucial to the creation of the Internet we know today. Thus, New Year’s Day 1983 is considered the beginning of the modern Internet.
