HTC Corporation is a Taiwanese consumer electronics company founded in 1997. Originally the manufacturer designed laptop computers but also released smartphone series, like the Desire or Touch series. The corporation began designing the first had-held devices in these years.
Initially the smartphones run with Windows Mobile, but later operators dedicated on the development of the Android operating system.
At one point, the company became a notable competitor to Samsung and Apple, but suffered net losses by 2015. To diversify in the business, HTC made collaborations with Valve for virtual reality platform HTC Vive and with Google for the Pixel smartphone.
Some brands have marketed HTC-manufactured products or continuously do so up until today. Notable examples are Dell, Fujitsu Siemens, HP, Sharp Corporation among others.
